We’re taking responsible action with Positive Planet to reduce our carbon emissions.

PRB Systems Ltd strives to be the most sustainable business in our industry. We firmly believe that our environmental impact can be met without compromising business needs. As a company, we have been actively reducing our carbon footprint over the last year. With the help of Positive Planet, we are now proud to announce that we are now a Carbon Neutral business. In order to achieve our current status, we worked through a five-point plan.

   • Identify our Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions
   • Calculate our carbon emissions by audit
   • Understand our carbon footprint
2. Reduce our emissions
   • Create a robust carbon reduction plan
   • Identify opportunities
   • Set goals and timelines
   • Action on reductions
3. Offset our emissions
   • Identify the remaining carbon footprint
   • Purchase carbon credits to offset remaining carbon emissions
4. Certify
   • Recognise our carbon neutral status
5. Engagement
   • Engage customers, suppliers, staff and other stakeholders
   • Promote the development of a circular economy

This is an outstanding achievement for the business, becoming carbon neutral has been a goal for PRB Systems and we’re excited to continue our work reducing our carbon footprint.

Most recently, we partnered with Ecologi. Every month, we are offsetting as a workforce. How are we doing this? Each month we offset 6.75 tonne of carbon reduction, which is the equivalent to 5 long haul flights or 16,747 miles driven in a car. As of today, we have 7 months of climate impact, 47.25tonnes of carbon reduction and 730 trees planted. This is the equivalent to 36 long haul flights, 142 metres squared of sea ice saved and 117,227 miles driven in a car. We are proud of the progress we are making.

In 2022, we launched the PRB ECO Division. A premium range of eco-designed products with a reduced carbon footprint of up to 69%, for the design of responsible and sustainable buildings. Leading the industry for a low carbon future, this ECO range is the first to be introduced into the UK market. We’re happy to report that these products are being used throughout the UK with fantastic feedback from users. You can view the range here.

Over the last year we have not only introduced our cement free range offering a Carbon Footprint reduction of up-to 69%, we have also focused on off-setting our workforce’s emissions and, to date, have planted over 700 trees and achieved a Carbon reduction of 47.25t.
