A follow up with PRB PRO Contractor, James Vaughan

A year after a visit to PRB HQ in France, we caught up with PRB PRO Contractor James Vaughan to find out about his current projects and his views on PRB, here is what James had to say:

The technical advice from PRB is second to none, if I require a system specification or even a site visit, it is arranged quickly and efficiently. Colour samples and system specifications are usually within dealt with in 24/48 hours ensuring my company looks professional with speedy responses to clients.

The support is incredible, never before have I had someone the other end of the phone almost waiting for my call, text, email or even what’s app!

I must say Iain Hebborn is a real credit to the company!

I find all materials spray well trough my M330 and EZE24. Base and top coats alike are all very stress free!

If building out thickness onto block-work, 2 passes are achieved whilst on same scaffold lift.

We spray thin coat Crepisix no problem with the EZE 24 to a finished standard.

But my clear favourite is Belle Époque, its an absolute joy to spray and work with. Making heritage work as easy as modern rendering.

Below are some examples of a current project being done using PRB Belle Epoque in colour Blanc De La Cote with an Ashlar and Scraped finish. To create the Sandstone effect for Coins and corbeling, PRB SUPERBRUT was used in colour Gibraltar.

We find with PRB we can spray wet, but still achieve decent thickness wet on wet. In comparison to other materials we find it lighter to rule and closes in with ease, no tearing when spating. This is generally due to being able to spray pretty wet but not having to worry about slumping.

I must admit Fondisol wasn’t my favourite material at start but after speaking with Andy and trying various different methods of finishing, I now actually enjoy using it!

The accelerator for thin coat SR Additif has saved many wash offs especially during winter months. Taking away the stress of looking at the next 2/3 days weather before applying top coat.

All in all, I couldn’t be happier with the service and products from PRB – they are a manufacturer I highly recommend.
